About the WAEA
The Washington Art Education Association has more than 230 members who are certificated staff in the state of Washington. WAEA also represents administration, museums, retired and higher education arts educators. There are 3 elected officer positions, ten appoint chairpersons and co-past presidents and co-president elects who serve as the board of directors.
WAEA is affiliated, at the national level, with the National Art Education Association. The NAEA has over twenty two thousand members.
Vision
Promoting excellence in visual arts education in Washington State.
Mission
The mission of the Washington Art Education Association is to promote excellence in visual arts education in Washington State.
Representative Council
The decision making body of the Association is the Board of Directors. The Board of Directors consists of the elected officers, appointed committee chairpersons and representatives from each ESD. Each ESD may have on representative. The Board of Directors normally meets on a Saturday every other month at 10:00 am. The meetings are open to all members and rotate around the state.
