Please write and send photos of all the wonderful ways you honor Youth Art Month (student work, displays, bulletin boards, etc). You may contact us directly or use the attached form. We will compile all activities into the Washington YAM Report to be sent to Youth Art Month national headquarters. We will also send off all information to the NAEA News. Established in 1961, Youth Art Month (YAM) is an annual observance each March to emphasize the value of art for all children and to encourage public support for quality school art programs. Art education gives students a deeper understanding of multi-cultural values and beliefs, while bringing to life what students learn in other subjects.

CALL FOR ARTWORK
for the YAM Museum

Every State will once again have an entire Panel Display set up for artwork!

 2.     Everything should be matted or mounted and ready for display. Fabric panels will be used and Velcro (tooth side) is recommended for hanging.  Remember, artwork will be viewed by all fellow NAEA convention attendees.

3.      All Artwork should be sent to Mari Atkinson, 8010 Mukilteo Speedway, Unit 108, Mukilteo, WA 98275 no later than March 24th, 2010. This allows for the selection process and mailing to the Council office by the April 1st deadline. Please Note: Even if you are attending the convention, artwork will not be accepted on-site. If you have electronic files of artwork that you would like to have displayed, please email the files to atkinsonmb@mukilteo.wednet.edu  by March 22nd to allow time to print them out.


4.      Please label the reverse side of ALL artwork with the students’ names and a RETURN TO Contact Name & Address All return shipments will be made at the WAEA’s expense.
