Stuart Davis Memorial Scholarship
The Washington Art Education Association sponsors and funds the Stuart Davis Memorial Scholarship for high school seniors. This program distributes up to $2,000 to deserving seniors who are students of individual WAEA members. This scholarship program recognizes quality art education and permits students to further their education. Scholarship awards are credited to the winning student’s financial account at the university, college, or art school where the student must continue in visual art or art education in the fall after graduation. click here for more information
The award is based on the strength of ten digital images on a CD of original student work, the student’s essay, a recommendation from the sponsoring WAEA member, a recommendation from one other person, a high school transcript, and the application form.
Members are urged to nominate deserving students.
Completed applications are due April 31. The Scholarship Committee will accept an April 31 postmark date for First Class postage. The committee will begin to review applications and announce awards in late April/early May. Award presentations are normally made at award ceremonies in individual schools.
