2025-2026 Virtual Workshops
Every 3rd Saturday Morning 10:00-11:30am
We all know that we should not have to advocate for the arts to remain in schools, but the fact remains that there are forces at work to rework the WA state High School Graduation Requirements so that students are no longer required to take even one year of Art!
Come learn what the Arts Advocacy groups in Washington have been learning from the State Board of Education. We will also learn how to take action steps as individuals to make sure the legislators know this bill is heading to them and to let the State Board know what the repercussions of this change would be. The workshop will focus on educating ourselves about the proposed bill and collective action we can take together. Some workshop time devoted to brainstorming collective action and creating responses for advocacy. We will be joined by Miranda Hein from ArtsEd Washington to help lead our discussion with Mark Moody, Becky Broyles. Come share your voice! 1.5 Clock Hours for WAEA members.
