Open Membership Meetings - All Are Welcome

We invite you to come to a bi-monthly open membership meetings. This is a great way to become an active part of the Washington Art Education Association. 

Open to Members

We are here for you. Open membership meetings are when we engage in thoughtful creativity - sometimes we make art together, sometimes we talk about best practices - so that you have a time to feel connected to a broader community of artists and art educators.

Community means just that. Public and Independent TK-12 Art Teachers, Teaching Artists, Museum Educators, Retired Art Educators (with a TON of knowledge and wisdom), University Art Educators, Community Arts Organization Members, and so on.

When are they?

One Saturday each month between September and May (and November 14th at the Fall Conference).

Guided by You

Each meeting will start with one hour of art making, discussions around best practices, or discussions about specific guided topics.

Then, our second hour will focus on leadership, business, and the guidance of our mission and vision as an organization. We will discuss our goals aligned with our strategic plan, upcoming events, committee reports, and general agenda items.

You will make the difference! Join us and help guide the organization along our path to serve art education and art educators throughout Washington.
